Why do you want to represent 29-B? As a long time resident of 29B, I want this district to have a strong, clear voice in the Minnesota State House. Rochester has had a long history of outstanding state senators and representatives. Why should that stop now? I would be honored to continue that rich tradition. It is a tremendous opportunity to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. With my leadership and experience in education and coaching, district 29B can depend on me to never be influenced by the score, the strength of the opponent, or the size of the arena. After 30 plus years of teaching political science and history, I have a unique appreciation for the legislative process and an understanding of its impact on our lives.

What non-issue do you see as critical to the future of the Minnesota Legislative process?  Without question it is the ability of all political parties to work together. Differences in opinion or solid debate is healthy for any good political system, but tax paying citizens are more than just concerned about partisan politics. Shut downs should be a thing of the past and cooperation needs to be the future. In every election rhetoric about cooperation surfaces, although recent bipartisan comments and proposals seem genuine and encouraging, I will work diligently to insure that the atmosphere of bipartisanship is not forgotten after this election.
